Has anyone actually bought this?

I saw it and initially thought it looked great. DS loved the books (God only knows why) and I thought they may be useful for DD who's just turned 3.

I thought it was quite a bargain at £14.99.

Then I realised I'd read the price wrong and it's actually £149.99! Does anyone actually pay that much for apps?

Methinks it's somewhat overpriced.........

I think we'll stick with 'sticker dolly dressing'....

I love sticker dolly dressing too. There is a good ladybird book app. The narrator is hilarious, especially on Puss in Boots. And you can record your own version.

I suppose perhaps people living abroad might buy it so that they can get their child reading in English?

I would just read them online on their website if you want to, they have a few each level

Is that MeBooks savoycabbage? We have got that one. I remember those illustrations from my childhood - Rumplestiltskin always terrified me!

plusonemore I heard about the app from the oxfordowl website! I just need to find a reliable web browser app that works with flash content.

Last year I found a few big cat Collins books free in the app store (iPad) it might be worth seeing if they are still available.

Will second the Oxford owl website (if you are using an iPad you need to down load puffin browser to get it to work).

You can get a free trial of puffin (4 weeks) to see if you like it before buying at £1.99.

DS bought the whole set before Dh got the security settings done! He loves them and they have helped him a lot. Whether £150 worth of help I'm not sure.

The Oxford owl website is great, plenty of free ebooks for all reading levels and great for the holidays and when DD forgets to change her reading book at school.

Borders!!! That's ridiculously cheap! I bought the whole reading scheme over a number of years and have spent an AWFUL lot more than 149 I must say

Sounds good value to me but I prefer books to be books especially for weans

Phew !! They are not the core stories ( trunk) I have hundreds of the buggers but worth every penny - I think I stop about level 10-11
