We've had a family drama - extension dust made middley kid poorly wiht his stoopid wheeze, landed up moving 3 hours away to sofa surf at grandparents for 6 weeks and had to home school my 3 kids. Ugh.

The school were outstandingly helpful. They made what could have been an impossible situation really easy, and went above and beyond what was necessary.

I want to write a letter to someone to say "thanks" - but, I have no idea who'd be the line manager of the head of a primary school?

how would I find out?

The head of education at your local authority.

Above the head is usually a QIO - Quality Improvement Officer (previously may have been a Service Manager). The school secretary will be able to give you the QIO's email.
