Theatre set design/prop making courses for children?

Wonder if anybody knows of theatres that possibly run holiday courses for children in set or prop design? DS is 11, dreams of joining the BBC design department when hes older and would lovw something like this. I've looked at NYT but they take applications from age 14 and above, wondered if theres anything similar for younger children, he wants to learn about the 'technical' side of theatre rather than the drama side (we are in South East)

Otherwise they might be able to point you in right direction.

Once he is in secondary he probably could get involved in the drama dept. My Ds has been working back stage from yr7.
Also try a local amdram group who might want help.
