What does a good behaviour policy look like?

Someone has suggested that I make sure I understand the behaviour policy at the school our DCs are going to be going to. It has a relatively high SEN %, which of course won't necessarily have an impact but she (a teacher) thinks it might and therefore important to understand how the school deal with behaviour issues. The story about the school in Blackpool that is in the news is also in my mind. I've found the behaviour policy for the school, and it looks fine, but what should I be looking for? I'm a bit embarrassed to ask the school about this, can anyone suggest any questions that might be sensible and not sound utterly neurotic (which I probably am).

thanks
