DH and I are having a major re-think of options. Any views and experiences of Windlesham, especially the pre-prep, and particularly on the quality of teaching and academic development, would be very welcome indeed. Thanks.

There was a recent thread on prep schools, where Windlesham came in for a lot of praise, but I'm not sure if anyone mentioned the pre-prep.
My nephews both went there (though not the pre-prep) and loved it, and my sister was very happy with it, but that was a long time ago - DNs are now 30 and 27!

Hi there ......there is a lot of information already about Windlesham House on Mumsnet. My DS is there at the moment and just loves it. Academics are very strong with lots of children winning major scholarships. Perhaps their greatest strength is the pastoral care. Teachers are very caring and the Headmaster really does know all the children.

I have friends in the Pre-prep and are extremely happy. Like me, the best thing to do is go and see the school. The setting is just beautiful and there is this very homely feel.

Another bonus is the other parents. A very friendly bunch indeed.

My son boards and loves it. There is no pressure to board, but from what I gather most children do. Heard on the grapevine that the school is really buzzing at the moment with lots of families trying to secure a place. My friend has her two DS joining in April. She was told that there would be lots of other children starting then.

See what you and you HB think and good luck!
