I heard a rumour that schools already have a list of who will be offered a reception place after Easter.

Is this true?

I don't know where you live but that is very unlikely. Those schools that are their own admission authority may have a list of applicants that they need to sort into priority order using their admission criteria but, even if they have managed to do that already, they won't know what offers will be made as that depends on what other schools the parents have applied for.

You are correct prh47bridge schools that are their own admissions authorities i.e. faith schools, Academies and Foundation Trust schools have got the list of applicants to their school and have to rank them according to the admissions criteria which for most schools is: Statements, Looked after, siblings and distance however faith schools may have additional criteria such as attendance at church in Catholic schools.

The schools then return the list to the LA. However this list that goes to school does not indicate parental preference and this will be factored in before offers are made. It is therefore no definite indication as to who will be offered reception places for September.
