Reasons for preference - secondary school application

I know I am worrying about this before I need to. My DD1 will be going to secondary school next year so I need to apply this year. Is it worth filling in this part of the form? I want her to go to a school that specialises in music and she is a keen musician. It is also a religious school so I wanted to let them know about our religious life too.

Are those among the criteria for admission ?

There is a separate form for the Minister to fill in which will show how often we attend Church. The musical side of it isn't in the criteria but the school does specialise in it.

The supplementary form will cover the religious aspect of the application. Unless musical ability is specifically mentioned on the admissions criteria (unlikely I would have thought) then there is no point in mentioning it because it will not prioritise you above someone who e.g. lives closer to the school and would be higher than you on the priority list. Many schools offer specialisms in e.g. sport or maths, sometimes it does mean a lot of extra activities offered, sometimes it means only that the school offers the minimum extra to qualify for the extra funding.
