The Perse Prep or King's College School in Cambridge?

My son has been offered a Yr 3 place this September at both schools. Can anyone tell me anything about these two schools, pros and cons etc.? I've heard that The Perse Prep is purely academically driven and students have less smiles there....? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

My daughter has been at Perse Prep Y3 since September and utterly loves it. I had heard it was a bit of a hot house as well, but that is simply not my experience of it. She has very little home work compared to her friends at other preps, and the school is pretty quick to offer any extra teaching they feel she might need. She is very happy there and I certainly haven't seen less smiles from her or her school friends. It is academically rigorous, but if your child has been offered a place there, it must mean the school believes he can cope with it. Unfortunately, I know nothing of Kings but I think Perse Prep offers a very well rounded education with a huge emphasis on sports, drama and other non academic areas. I certainly have no regrets with my daughter going there and she is really thriving. And smiling. Lots.
