DD has started to blend words well. Quite frankly I am shocked and very proud at her sudden progress, it's as if she's had a light bulb moment.

However, she does get confused with d b which I guess is not uncommon. Any strategies/sayings that can help her remember which way around they go?

We were shown a great iPad app in a staff meeting this week called letter reflex. It helps with b,d,p,q reversals.

Could you teach her the word bed?
It's looks like a bed so which way round they go is remembered and then she can work it out from there.
