Hi,
We are currently in the process of relocating from the East Midlands to the Inverness area. My husband will be based in Inverness for work but we are thinking of renting outside of the main centre.
We have a 6 yr old who is currently in a great school with continuous outstanding ofsted results and we want to try to find her a similar fab school and also a nursery for our 2 yr old.
Can anybody recommend any villages or areas outside of Inverness (within about 15 miles) that would be a good place to settle with good schools as we don't know the surrounding areas too well.
Thanks.xx

Bumping it up for you. We are in Inverness itself where there are a few good primary schools but I don't know much about the outlying areas.

You could try posting on the local board. It's very quiet but I know there are a lot of locals out there.

Hi ChristmasJubilee,
Thanks for the reply, I have taken your advise & posted local aswell.
Can you recommend any of the primary's local to you, as we may have to rent in Inverness initially and it's always good to have a couple from different areas.
Thanks.

Drakies or Milton of Leys (new school opened 2011) would be my top choices. Both have breakfast and after school clubs and nurseries with wrap round care from 3. Both have good outdoor space which gets well used. The lovely new building at Milton of Leys (and it is really lovely) would sway many, but Drakies is well on it's way to being refurbished and, I think, gets my no. 1 vote Wink . Inshes, Holm, Lochardil and Balloch are also popular. I have had friends with children at all of these over the last decade and all have done well.

I might just out myself here if I'm not careful!

Ha ha, please don't go making any enemies on count of me!!

That's really helpful, thankyou. I will have a look at the Ones you've suggested and I can get a better clue. We are hopefully coming up to Inverness in May before we relocate so I can have a proper look around schools and areas.

Thanks for all your help. Xx
