Can somebody reassure me regards to Maths Levels in Y3?

DS2 is in year 3. The homework he has been given recently says Level 3C on top, and I am just wondering whether this is good or bad, or whether we should do some extra work with him.

Ds1 went straight into y5 and ds2 to Y2 when we returned from Norway in September 2011, I am therefore not quite sure where ds2 should be in Y3. He has had a lot to catch up with as he came to Y2 straight from Norwegian nursery.

L3C is absolutely fine at this stage in Year 3, no worries at all!

Level 3c is good for year 3. At the end of year 2 the national expectation is for pupils to be at level 2b. So 3c is two stages above that.

Oh thanks that is great. He is so behind with literacy, due to not starting school until last year and not learning to read until then, that it is hard to know where he is.
Good to know that his numeracy at least is where it should be. Smile

By the end of year 3, the expected level is a 2a/3c so he is at the upper end of that now, and it's only a third of the way through the year.
