I'm after ideas and inspiration for how to raise my concerns with my daughter's school. She is year 6 - and her timetable for this term has just half an hour slot for PE.
The amount of SATS preparation they've already done is bad enough - now it's been ramped up further and the children have been told that because the school wants them to do additional work on grammer and punctuation, there is now only the half hour left for PE. It also coincides with choir so those children in the choir will have no PE at all.
She is already bored - she's going to be starting a level 6 booster group next week which I hope will challenge her, but so far since this term started every day has "I haven't learnt anything new we're just going over old stuff" and my happy, eager-to-get-to-school child is rapidly turning into Kevin-the-teenager!
