Qu about supporting docs needed for the London online primary school application

So I've decided on my schools and I submitted my application online (Southwark). After submitting I got the option to upload various docs (b cert, proof of address and some others). Am I supposed to do this or do I just wait until I've got a school and then provide relevant docs then? A bit confused b/c the Southwark Primary School Application pdf makes no mention of attaching supporting docs online and instead says you'll be required to provide originals and the woman I called at Southwark Council didn't seem to know anything about it.

What it says in the Southwark admission documentation for 2013-14 entry is

^1.2 Proof of address
Any offer of a school place will be conditional until proof of address has been provided within 15 days of the date of the offer of the place. Original copies of the following documentation will be required:
? Child benefit documentation;
? Council tax bill; and
? One other proof of address such as a bank statement, TV licence or credit/store card statement
Occasionally, if the LA has reason to suspect that a family does not live at the address stated on their application an investigation will be carried out. Should the LA discover that a parent has stated a fraudulent address the offer of a school place will be withdrawn.^

There is no mention of birth certificate being required. However the admission code is quite clear that the admission authority can only ask for proof of birth date after a place has been offered but it must not be the "long" birth certificate as this would include information on the child's parents which is not allowed to be asked for.

From the above it would seem that you do not need to complete till after you have been offered a place but it may seem reasonable and less likely to be forgotten if it is done now. What exactly an original copy is, I am not sure because a copy of something is never going to be original. I presume that it is bad wording and that the LA require original documentation, that is the birth certificate etc.
