Would really appreciate some advice and help from anyone who has children of primary age at either Swanbourne House school or Akely Wood school in Bucks. We have two boys (6 yrs and 8 yrs) and are trying to get the lowdown on good prep or independent schools in north Bucks. Thanks! /emo/te/thanks.png

Hi

Don't know if you are still looking but I know of both quite well.
Both lovely schools with happy children and parents

Aykely is cheaper. Some people are a bit snobby about it but it's generally fine. Doesn't tend to feed into major public schools if that's what you're interested in but does go right through to 16 (at least - not sure if there's a 6th form, there might be). Don't think it's very academic.

Swanbourne is a traditional, quite upmarket Prep. Most go through to 13 and on to public schools. Non selective but has lots of very bright children as well as those with SEN. Think it's quite academic and very sporty.

There's also Milton Keynes Prep and the Webber School.
