We've very recently bought DS a nexus to use as an e-reader as he has a visual impairment and enlarging the text really helps. He is Yr 3 so I haven't looked at levels as such but there are definitely some early reader type books.

One thing that has really frustrated me is the price, I bought The Twits on the kindle app and it was more expensive than if I had actually bought the book from amazon which I think is ridiculous and especially frustrating when we own two copies of it!!!

Www.Oxfordowl.co.uk is good, although you can't download them to a device.

peasandcucumber - if your child has a diagnosed visual impairment, many UK publishing companies will provide ebooks of school reading books and textbooks to the school for your DC to use. The educational publisher I work for provides this free of charge. PM me if you'd like more info on this.

My dd has no visual impairment just books take up so much space and she loves reaidng bug club online.

shes enjoyed and read all of ginn 360 level 5 but her school dont have any next level. Im lucky they have huge variety of reading schemes some ancient.

She loves the orien early readers -by horrid henry author.

Also brought 3year old a innotab and they say they have e books but have no idea which ones.

You don't need to down load the books from Oxford owl, just click on the one you want and open it (but turn the sound off otherwise it will read the book to you!!)

Can't help you on the downloadable books as I am looking for some for DD to read on my iPad.

There were some big cat Collins books available a few months ago (but may be too easy for her).
