Hi,

My DD is within the gifted and talented program in writing and maths since last year, in our local state Infant School with Ofsted 'Outstanding', but your Junior school is only "satisfactory".
We have another local school, also Ofsted 3 (satisfactory). Sad

School league tables says "% Achieving Both Inglés and maths Level 4 +"
70% our option1 (where will go most of your friends) and 84% Option2 :(

What would you do? which school choose as first choice? or believe it worth the risk to a school outside of our area?
In a bad Ofsted, which should be more strong points to consider? Confused

I think DD is doing a great job and I'm so confused! (and worry) Sad

Can anyone give me some guidance, please, or cheer me up?

Thank you very much in advance.

You should go and look at both schools and decide for yourself. Ofsted reports are only a (very) small part of the picture. Both my DC's schools were satisfactory when they started there - however they are both doing well at these schools and both have since been regraded as "good". Both sets of Ofsted results are above average, so really I don't think either school flags up as a cause for concern.

Forget the %, how well will your child do? Go have a look at the schools, ask questions, feel the place out.

Is 70% level 4 above average? Shock Does that mean a third of children don't reach the expected level at the end of KS2? With all these % you have to look at what the % was at entry. Are the feeder infant schools' % low as well? Also does it specify what % reached level 5 and above?
