Short sleeved shirts

Has anyone else left their reception age boy in short sleeved shirts?

DS has moaned when i've tried to put long sleeved on him, he doesn't take his jumper off all day and the school haven't said they have to wear long sleeved, I can't see any guidelines and no one has said anything to me.

Anyone else do this or should I insist on long in winter?

My kids have never worn long sleeved shirts. They get quite hot in school and it is also easier for the younger ones when painting or playing with water. No sleeves to roll up.

DS1's school is so hot & stuffy all the time that I don't think he'd tolerate long sleeved shirts. They wear polo shirts anyway, so it's short sleeves all the time. He had long sleeved jumpers but it was so warm in the classroom that I also bought some tank tops, which he has so far agreed to wear

Short sleeves are best as they always fit

Short sleeved shirts, long sleeved jumper. My DSs wouldn't have it any other way. They get hot in school, and it saves getting the cuffs filthy.

My daughters are still in short sleeved. Dd2 in particular would melt in long sleeves.

I have 3xds's and they have never worn long sleeves..ds1 hated it and still does... 2 thing on his wrist(jumper and shirt) yr 7 now in a blazer all day and can just about manage that!

Much easier for P.E went they dont have to fiddle with cuff buttons ...top buttons are bad enough !!

I really dont think that little bit of extra material from elbow to wrist is going to make them any warmer !!

As some one said up thread cuffs get filthy....collars are bad enough !!!
