Has anyone done "Speed Up"?

Has anyone used Speed Up with their DCs? Do you think Ds (8.5) is too old? How long do you have to spend on it a day?

What is it?

It's a book to improve writing skills. DS has poor fine-motor control.

I have also heard about "Write from the Start" - does anyone have a feeling as to which is better?
