Hello there, I am really looking for some advice from mums here.
My little one has just started Oatlands school in weybridge and for those who know the school you will be aware that is suppose to be an outstanding school. I was delighted she got in but I was speaking to number of mums who have had kid at Oatlands and then move on to Cleves and apparently the Oatlands children are a good bit behind all the other children when they start at cleves, is that true?? and is it also true that Oatlands does not do any spellings with them for the whole time they are there??
I am really concern about this matter and I am actually thinking about taking my daughter out but really not sure???
Also why does Oatlands have such outstanding reputation & ofsted report??
Thanks very much

If you want your child to learn 'spellings' get the Schonell list & do it at home.

Cleves aren't that great at 'spellings'. We regularly have lists home with mis-spellings & even words that don't exist on them. The school newsletter and letters from the Head often contain errors of punctuation, grammar, spelling.

As for Oatland's, if you're keen on a place at Cleves the recent proposals for admissions names Manby Lodge children as a priority and not those from Oatland's. Your child might well not get in although I believe home address is still relevant. Check it out.

I have had children at all three of the above schools and wasn't impressed by any of them.
