Moving from Abingdon to Witney primary schools

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone who may live in Witney or knows the area would be able to give me some helpful advice.
I currently live in Abingdon with my 8 year old son. We are thinking of moving to the Witney area within this next year as we have become very fond of Witney and have a lot of close friends in this area too. Although reading a lot of primary school ofsted reports and looking on theri websites, I just wondered if any one could let me know, which they think are the better schools to attend, which to avoid and of course the same with living area's. We would like to be as close to the town centre as possible, but really don't want to end up living in a dodgy area (that's no offence to anyone living in Witney) but I think every town has an area like this, I know Abingdon does lol! I have never moved my son's school before either, so all of this would be completely new to me so I'd like to make sure I do everything properly and consider all my options before diving in at the deep end and just moving. So any hints and tips anyone has about good family area's to live in and which are the best primary schools around, that would be an ace help!

Thanks all,
Becks :)
