Still waiting for a timetable...

Things haven't settled down since the start of term because we don't have enough staff to cover PPA and NQT and management time. Parents are asking me when we do PE and I cannot say as the timetable changes each week. I have no idea what next week will look like.

There must be someone out there who wants a part time teaching job...and maybe even a qualified TA who can read, write and speak a decent level of English too - 100 applicants and we still couldn't appoint someone!

Where are they all?

Where do you live? Is it a school that everyone avoids?

Goodness, whereabouts are you? I know at ds's primary the last time they advertised for a TA they had about 70 applicants including qualified TAs, teachers, doctors, nurses, etc etc etc...

And I have lots of fantastic teaching friends eager for work after a parenting break

That is why I asked - it wouldn't be a problem in my area.

Near Heathrow...many TAs around here don't have English as a first language and although we had around 100 applicants, their standard of English wasn't high enough.

It's a lovely school, staff rarely leave and even the retired ones come back and work a few days a week.

The location is the problem- there are lots of teachers who want part time work - finding them is the problem in your case.
