Schooling in Glasgow Area (West side)

Hi I am looking to put my child in a good school. I wonder if you could help me with 2 questions

1. DO any schools take child of 4 in Primary1 instead of nursery / kindergarten (He has already done a year of nursery)
2. What are the good schools which will do that (state/private)
