DD has had a bit of an odd pencil grip all through Reception, which her Reception teacher told me was not a problem and no need to correct it. As soon as she has gone into Y1 the new teacher doesn't share that view and at the recent parents meeting / meet the teacher session she did go on about the children developing a traditional pincer grip/ slanting the page and so on.
Am a bit
that there seems to be a lack of one policy at school but aside from that DD says that now all the girls have been given a 'dolphin' to wear which is somehow strapped to the hand. Anyone got any idea what she is on about as I haven't a clue? I don't think it can be a pencil grip that you just slide on as we've already got a few of those kicking about at home - it is something else..but what??
