hi

we are due to move in december down the road
the house is being built at present
there is a new school on the estate
we have just been to look around the school it is amazing Grin
dd2 is 3.5 yrs so due to start school next year
we can apply online from 1st of nov
when we fill out form should we put our current address (which is out of catchment)
then put what our new address will be and say that we are moving in dec
was hoping that this would be enough to get her into the school

also dd1 is 7 yrs and currently in a school down the rd
we would look at moving her next sept so they are both in the same school
how to we go ab about applying for her to move schools
she would go into yr 4

I would telephone your LEA and talk to them as each area can vary but assuming its the same as ours:

Your DD1 will need to have a "mid year application" filled in for transfer.

For DD2 applications don't close until 15 Jan 2013 so if you are moving in December don't apply until after you have moved. There is no priority to early application, as long as you apply before the cut off date and giving them your old address could just confuse things.

If your move is delayed and you have to apply from the old address then your LEA should have a policy for how you change your application address.
