hi my dd is in year 2, she finished year 1 having achieved 1a writing, 2c reading and maths, are these good levels for start of year 2 and what would be her predicted level for end of year 2?

Well DS now in yr3 finished on the same scores but 2c in reading and writing and 1a in numeracy (at the end of yr1) and he scored 3c at the end of yr2 (SATS) in all of them.

Expected progress is one whole level in KS1 and 2 sub-levels in KS2.

If your daughter progresses at the expected rate, she should achieve 2a and 3c by the end of year 2.

But expected progress is just that- expected. Doesn't mean it's a given.

Hi Feeee:

I thought I'd send through this link to the Mumsnet page on National curriculum levels in their LEARNING section: www.mumsnet.com/learning/assessment/national-curriculum-levels.

Basically with a 1a in writing and a 2c in reading/ maths your DD is well on track to achieve the target of 2b at KS1 SATs.
