Shoe buckles - can yours fasten them?

How old was your DC when they mastered fastening a shoe with a buckle? DD starts school Monday and I'm fretting that I've made a classic error by getting shoes with a buckle?

I wouldn't worry about too much as they generally only have to take them off for PE. Just get her to keep practicing!

Otherwise is there any chance of taking them back to exchange for velcro kind?

I could have murdered DH when he brought back buckled school shoes for DD when in her second term Reception (still aged 4). But she rose to the challenge, and had them mastered in a few goes. Keep practicing!

Thanks ladies! She's not the patient, determined sort, but we'll have a go anyway. I'm probably underestimating her.
