Can your year 2 child read these words?

DD has just started year 2 and her teacher has put a note in her reading record book saying she can't read the following words in a book and she'd expect her to be able to do so at this stage so will I go over them with her?

atmosphere
acid
hemisphere
international
intellectual

Its odd as normally dd is a good reader but just wondering if these are words that you'd expect a year 2 starter to be able to read

My yr 2 dc read them with no problem but I'm not sure they are normal words for the start of year 2!

DS is 6 and just gone into Y2, he is a level 3c for reading and could read all these words but I am not sure he would know the meaning of hemisphere and intellectual and I would be surprised if his teacher would worry about whether he did or not.

He is the top reader in his class so I am fairly sure they are not standard words for a Y2 child unless they are a high level reader.

Dd just read them and struggled slightly with hemisphere and stumbled over intellectual. She's 6.5 and a good reader.

Dd is just 6, and probably in the bottom half of class in reading. She struggled with all of the words, with her best try being acid (aksid). Although we are in Wales, where I think there is less emphasis on spelling/reading until y2 IMO.
