Irritated by primary teacher. Only day 3!

So following the letter asking that all school uniform was labelled, I spent a short amount of time screwing in name buttons from attach a tag on all Dd's school clothes. Only for her to be picked up by daddy today to be told by teacher 'I've had to write her name in her cardigan'. On the bloody label the attach a tag name tag is fixed to. Bloody blind or what? I don't like writing on my kids clothes, partly cos we have 4 kids who will be in the same primary, so handing down and it's easy to change the attach a tag labels, partly cos I want to pass it on if anything is servicable afterwards and it saves embarrassment for the recipient. Oh well. Guess I'll have to show her teacher next week to save her writing in everything!

The teacher was trying to help you - whether you are precious about names written on labels is pretty far down her list of priorities.

Why on earth do schools require hundreds of kids to wear identical outfits and then whine about the time spent sorting mixed up cardigans!!(tongue in cheek emoticon)
YANBU Of course nobody should write in somebody else's clothes.

Unfortunately small children often fail to recognise their belongings even when they are very, very different from the other children's catwoo.

You're in for a rough time during all your years at Primary school, OP. Relax.

DSs teachers will write in unnamed uniform - it is impossible to get the right uniform to the right child otherwises. I had stupidly written in the side label once and we lost an item for a while as no one found the name - I now make sure the name labels/written on names are at the collar.

They only ever use biro so it does eventually wash out.
