Hello
I have just joined Mumsnet. I am British, living in France with a 6 year old daughter who is fully bilingual English/French. I would LOVE to move back to the UK, specifically Surrey, Kent or Sussex areas. However, I we would particularly like a school that is strong in languages or where some of the curriculum is taught in French.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of schools in these counties that might fit the bill?

Un grand merci.

Is South Oxfordshire close enough?

There is the European School at Culham which is losing some EU funding and closing when current pupils finish. However, "Europa School" has now got government funding and will operate on same site gradually taking over year groups as the European School stop doing them.

Have a look at website below, I have no experience of the school, just came across it when house-hunting in area! - might be perfect for you though....

Hello,

In Surrey you have Hampton Court House
www.hamptoncourthouse.co.uk/cned/

You might find the following website useful; it goes through options for French children or for French/English bilingual children in the UK
www.avenuedesecoles.com/

Good luck

Forgot to point out, the Europa one I linked to is effectively becoming a "state" school (albeit a "free school" outside local authority control).

So it's free of charge - Bonus!
