I cant find trouser to fit DS, he is 4. they need to be dark grey. he is very skinny. in shorts i buy 18-24 months and sometimes they are too wide. I normally buy next slim fit and make the waist as slim as i can but they dont have the right colour.

Anyone any idea where to try?

I've just got some ft next although they are just called grey, they are dark grey though

Hi Lunar, my DS is exactly the same - I've found slim fit school trousers in grey from Next with adjustable waist. They're spot on for him! Good luck with starting school phew, someone else with the 18m shorts still on the go for a 4yr old! (grin)

M&s slim fit. It works. And its grey. My DS is v slim.

Thank you NickNacks, they looked light on the website.

Oh dear I just saw that Next aren't selling your colour! Blush Do they really have to be so exact? Otherwise I found M&S pretty good last yr

chocolateistheenemy · 28/08/2012 07:03

Agree with NickNacks the Next ones I bought seem pretty dark grey

Thank you Chocolate and drcrab, I have ordered a pair from next, ill get some more if they are ok. The uniform shop have them but dont do slim fit for some reason. they are really strict with the uniform, I will be going to m&s tomorrow too so will give them a try too.

Glad its not just my DS in his 18 month shorts. It swim shorts that are the worst as I can never find any with a proper pull cord to tighten them, it is always fake. Oh how i wish i had the same problem

Hi
I got also got slim fit school trousers from Next, just ordered the same for this school year. Had several pairs last year, they lasted all year, washed well and did not need ironing even coming out the dryer. Thought they are a better fit than M&S, not too big around the bum when pulling in the waist smaller.

Dolallytats · 28/08/2012 07:56

I got grey slim fit trousers for my son in Next.

lunar1 · 29/08/2012 11:48

Thank you, the next ones arrived this morning and are dark enough, they are also the skinny one with the waist band that you can pull in. That all the uniform sorted until he decides to grow again!

Right - I have searched exhaustively for trousers for DS2 who is also very very skinny legged. M&S Flat Front Modern Fit Trousers seem to be the only ones that fit. For 'Modern Fit' read skinny fit.

lunar1 · 29/08/2012 19:42

ooh, i avoided modern fit when looking online as i didn't understand what it meant!

I know! Most confusing. I was tipped off by a friend. I have now bought the flat front Next ones too on the back of this thread - can always send them back if necc. It has become a bit of an obsession though; he has mobility difficulties too and trips over a lot so baggy trousers are actually quite dangerous for him!
