I live half a mile from this school and would like my daughter to go there. We attend St Mary's Church. I had never doubted she would get in but recent stories from others have sowed some doubt in my mind. Our lease is up for renewal now and it being the school holidays I cannot find the people to ask.
If anyone has any information of past experience in this I would be most grateful. I do not want to move much but might if where we live now is likely to mean my daughter would not get a place.
Does anyone have any other ideas how to get this information? I have tried the church, the school and the council. The first two are on holiday and the council don't know.

I am sure you are unlikely to have a problem if you go to St Mary's church and have fulfilled their attendance criteria (!) and have a letter from the vicar. For CofE applications, the catchment is actually very broad. It is only for those who apply based on distance only that the catchment is tiny. We were 0.8 miles away, know we wouldn't have a hope, and ended up 8th on the waiting list.

Thank you for this. It sounds like our situations are likely to be even more similar as regards other schools in the area, depending on which direction your 0.8 miles is, I wonder do you have any comments on other choices in the area that I might consider putting down?
