Hi there, our wee one is about to start P2. We have just moved over to edinburgh from glasgow and now need to get her into a primary school. The catchment schools are St Peters RC and South Morningside (ND). She went to a catholic school in Glasgow and we are keen for the same in Edinburgh. However, we are told that there is a huge waiting list for our catchment area school St Peters and have been given the impression she wont be given a place. She has been baptised, has started catholic education already and we are in the catchment area with the school only a mile away, yet it appears that we could still be refused. What is the general policy if you cannot gain entry to your catchment area RC school? Is it a case that you have to go outside the catchment area? I don't like the idea of sending her outside catchment area as friends will be from further afield etc. Any pointers on rights to entry into catchment area schools would be welcome.
Thanks
