Well that's the end of 11 years standing in the primary school playground
DD2 left today after a couple of weeks of very hectic Y6 things. School production was Olivia which was brilliant (what a talented bunch), school music concert (after talking to the music teacher we worked out I have been twice a year for 9 years), leavers party (bucking bronco and disco) which was hit by a power cut that lasted 3/4 hour (never mind, it gave them time to eat - luckily we had a BBQ) and today was the leavers assembly
This was hosted by the head mistress who has been at the school long enough to have known this bunch since YR and the children themselves. I held it together long enough until the slide show started which had pictures of them from YR up to Y6. The children sang some songs from their production and when they finished with 'We've had some good times haven't we' they were all in tears as well.
After finishing school we all went down to our local park with the sun shining
.
Good luck to all of them and I'm just a little sad that my DD2 will now become a secondary school pupil and hope that she will remain my little girl for a little while longer.
