I really didn't rate our chances, given how strict the ICS limits are, though given DS1's Special Needs I thought if anyone had a chance at gaining a place in spite of the limits, we did. Anyway the appeal voted unanimously in our favour - that the initial decision was not a reasonable one, given the impact it would have on not only our family but DS1's class. Hurrah for a bit of common sense!

Well done, you obviously gave a good account of the issues that you would be faced with and this swayed the panel to a pragmatic and sensible decision.
It is all about the level of what is reasonable and what is not. It is one of those cases where the panel will always feel admitting is the right thing to do, but it is how far the panel can go to agree the LA were unreasonable.
