Unauthourised absence mark

Am I being OTT by getting a little narked about this :
My son (yr 3) has had an unauthorised absence tick for one morning back in April which on checking back in my diary was when he had a doctor's appointment. I handed a note in at reception when dropping him off mid-morning explaining why he was late as well as informing his class teacher the previous day.
Should I complain or just forget it? Otherwise he would have been 100%!

Call in to the office, I'm sure they will rectify it for you. Did he miss out on a certificate.

He wouldn't be 100% attendance but his absence would be medical not unauthorised.

I see - don't think I'll bother about it. It'll probably cause more bother than it warrants in the black hole that's reception!

definately shouldn't be unauthorised but then the office staff don't do the attendance sheets the teachers do. If the note has been passed on then the teacher is the one to speak to to ask the office to change it. It's the teachers mistake not the office staff. I would never change it unless the teacher told me to registers and absence sheets are legal documents and it's the responsibility of the teacher to get it right, all the office staff do is read the sheet through a machine.

Not in my LEA we still have old fashioned registers which office staff ammend

My child had one once at middle school, when I checked, they said that they didn't do the register that day. Shows how much they care.

I think I would tell them.

It doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things, but it would irk me that there was an error!
