Relocating to Skipton area

Hi, my family are relocating to the Skipton area in October and I'm looking for some 'inside gen' if possible about either Embsay Primary or Carleton Primary as possible schools for my soon to be Year 3 and Year 5 children. Does anyone know the catchment areas for these schools as we're looking to rent in the first instance before eventually buying a property. I'm keener on Embsay as a school as we loved it when we looked around and I would prefer single year group classes if possible but I think we're going to end up initially living outside of the catchment whilst renting so not sure how happy County Hall will be with that. Could anyone let me know their opinion on Carleton as a possible choice? Would really appreciate any help if anyone has a moment! My 9 year old son is getting stressed about leaving his friends in Lincolnshire and is convinced that no-one will want to be his friend anywhere else. It's heartbreaking as his Mum as no amount of reassurance seems to help. Whilst I know that I'm biased, he's a smashing kid who is so fun loving yet loyal, kind, caring and compassionate that I know he will make new friends before too long but I worry that his heart is breaking as a result of us needing to tear him away from an area that he loves due to my DH's new job.

I would also be interested in any info on dance schools for my daughter in the area if anyone knows anything. Thanks in advance. Smile

No real help but one of my colleagues girls went to Embsay and apparently it was a fantastic school. Smile

I've not posted before on Mumsnet to I am not sure if I can promote my own Performing Arts Academy? In case you're interested, I run LifeStage Academy of Performing Arts in Skipton at Skipton Baptist Church Thursday nights 5:15 to 7:45. Aimed at 8 to 18 year olds, pupils split into age groups, and do dance, drama and singing with 3 different teachers. You can try the first 2 free weeks for free, then it costs £49 a month. For more info or to contact me to have an informal chat, please google for LifeStage Academy.
