Hello. I've just heard of this new school but don't know much about it - does anyone send their children there or know anyone who does? Thanks.

Hi! Our daughter is in Reception there and we are extremely happy with it. We took a leap of faith last year when we signed her up, since it didn't exist at the time of application and we have been proven right. It started with 2 reception classes, and adds 2 more each year, so it grows slowly. The children love the school and the academic achievements are amazing. Because the school is so new, the parents can really get involved in building the culture and the community, if they wish to.

My daughter's there too - about to complete reception and very happy and rading enthusiastically. The school focuses on getting children a head tasrt in reading, writing and maths, even in reception, although there's also lots of drama, project work, music and "choosing time" which is child directed but still around a theme that support's that child's educational progress. Provision is really carefully planned. It's a great social mix, I think 25+ languages (most non-english are as econd languages) and celebrates its diversity. very mixed and entusiatic parent group nd feels like everyone feels included and gets involved. more here www.arkatwood.org

sorry she's reading enthusiastically not rading. maybe they should run typing courses for semi literate mothers...
