Have now had Year 1 report - But no phonics test results or even mention of it!

I thought someone said parents have to get results? They're at school till next Fri but seems odd not to put them in reports. Not been mentioned in newsletters.

ds has had a v disrupted year with teacher changes and v poor phonics teaching so wouldn't be at all surprised if he failed; could pass if he gets the point of the test. Not bothered, just would be nice to know. Am now wondering if the whole class failed!! Grin

Should I ask teachers?

How will the results from the phonics screening check be used?

Schools? results will not be published, although schools will have to tell parents their child?s results. Schools will be given the flexibility to inform parents in the way they think most suitable. Data will be available on RAISEOnline, for use by schools, local authorities and Ofsted as part of their inspections process.

Teachers must tell parents whether or not their child met the required standard to ensure they are aware of their child?s progress in developing phonics skills. This must be done by the end of the summer term at the latest.
