My daughter can start nursery school next September, I am in a bit of pickle as I we live in the area in which I teach and her local school would be my school. I really don't want her to go to my school or a local school- can anyone give me any advice as to my options?

I don't understand your thread title. Confused

Are there any other local schools?

  1. I don't understand the thread title.
  1. Your options are to apply for a place at other schools. Of course you could always move, if you felt it would help you get into a school which isn't local.

Is this serious? Confused

Confused

Are you a teacher? I'm assuming you mean you don't want your DD to go to the school you teach at. Why don't you want her to go to a different local school?

To be honest your options are probably quite limited. All admissions will be based on the admission criteria of the schools and if they standard type admission criteria, then you are going to be talking about the local catchment school being the school where you are most likely to get a place. The further away you go the less likely it is that you will get a place as the distance criteria will always be against you.
Could I suggest that you do need to think carefully about childcare arrangements as you are unlikely to be able to collect at the school gate at school close in the afternoon.
Maybe if your concern is to not be in the same school as your daughter then the answer is to get your daughter into the local school and for you to get a new position in a school a little bit further away.
