Year R Report - targets

Hi All

DD has just had her first school report, I am understanding all that fine, so no questions there!

However - her numeracy target is 'to learn by heart all number bonds to 10 and 20'...... can someone translate that to english please? never heard of a number bond!

That is the new way of saying 1+9=10, 2+8=10, 3+7=10 etc

I think, and I might be corrected here is it is all the sums that make a certain number eg.
1+9=10
2+8=10
3+7=10
4+6=10
5+5=10

These are sums that we automatically know by heart and don't need to work them out.

ahhhh I see, and these reports would probably have been written around half term yes? She knows those to 10 now (clicked in the last few weeks) so will make sure we practice those to 20 over the holidays, she can work them out but doesn't know from memory!
