ks1 SATS results

my ds's school (is just an infant school) has got really good SATs results this year. Almost half the cohort got level 3s in Maths (up from just 25% last year). Am interested whether this is national thing or not.

At the risk of sounding cynical, OP, I think you will find that infant only schools do better in KS1 SAT's than through primary schools, for obvious reasons.

yes that is bound to be the case Iam but this can not explain the big increase from 2011. (when they were better than average but not by much)

Ours got:
57% speaking listening
56% reading
43% writing
49% maths
56% science

The results are pretty average, they are almost always around 50% give or take 6-7%.

It is a infant school but the junior school is crazy academic and has value added of 101.6 so even if the results are a bit generous they push them hard in the junior school anyhow.

Our level 3s below average but results on the up year on year. Catchment area is relevant.
