A boasting thread....

I know boasting and stealth boasting is very frowned on but some of us are bursting with pride and there is no one else to tell who would understand what the hell we are talking about. My parents have no clue about 'levels' and DH pretends to understand but doesn't really. I have twins aged 7 , born at the end of Aug but due in October. Rocky start in Nursery and Reception - DS referred to EP and speech therapy - and put on SA+. DD had social difficulties and rarely spoke and was ridiculously shy. At the end of Foundation they got scores of 66 and 77. By the end of Yr 2 they both got: Reading Level 3; Writing 2a and Maths 2a. Have just got this years reports and they have both got Level 4c for reading; Level 3b for writing and DD got a 3a for Maths and DS got a 3b.

They are not out of the woods socially and I am pretty sure that my son has mild dyspraxia. But considering they really should be just finishing Yr2 I am amazed at their progress. However I can't spout this in RL but I hope you all forgive me for doing it here.

What a lovely idea. There's nothing wrong with being proud and it sounds as if you have every reason to want to tell the world how great your children are.

kickingKcurlyC · 08/07/2012 13:36

That's great :)

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 08/07/2012 17:55

Ah, it's stealth boasting that's frowned on, justified pride is fine! Smile Well done.

Haberdashery · 08/07/2012 20:42

That is brilliant! Congratulations to your children - it sounds like they have really blossomed.

I rather like reading an honest brag. Sometimes children really do just do stuff that makes you absolutely burst with pride.

moonblushtomato · 08/07/2012 20:48

Well done to your dcs and what a lovely idea for a thread. So glad they have caught up to this level, I think they deserve a treat or a mummy recognition. We haven't got our levels yet, hope they're as good as yours.

Pammym · 08/07/2012 21:19

Nothing wrong with sharing tales of hard won achievements. Congratulations to all !

DS (Y1) was very excited as he has just been awarded a pen in assembly. Every day now he comes home to tell me what he was allowed to write in pen rather than pencil. It is quite funny to see him so excited about something like that!

50shadesofstress · 10/07/2012 10:32
