NC levels in reports-should there be sub levels?

Dd has had her year one report with nc levels in maths and English. They are just the number without a,b,c. Is there much point to this? I wouldn't really mind if the levels weren't there, but if they are going to give levels then they are giving a very wide range if they don't include sub levels.

There's no requirement to report levels at all in Year 1. I agree that a broad level judgement is just that.

Given that 1C is essentially a year behind and 1A is on track then if you're going to put a level, I think you may as well do subs too.

Good to know, thanks. Could be that they've been asked for levels by some parents so are doing that without giving information that sets expectations of what will happen come the sats next year. Shall continue to be unbothered by it and read comments instead!
