It's true, I admit it, I have a problem with school in general but .... reports for six year olds.... really.

My lovely daughter's says she is very nice, tries hard and loves school. Of course it does, I expect that's the same for 99% of the kids in the class and for the 1% who are in difficulties in some way, this will be dealt with face to face, as it should be.

I could scream at all the facebook messages from my friends, nice, clever, intelligent, ordinary women, who keep putting things like 'so proud' etc. For chrissakes, it's Y1!

Why would you judge a six year old in these terms and if it has to be done according to current educational fashion - poor bloody teachers churning out these random platitudes - why would you take it seriously?

God knows how I'm going to stand this until she leaves in ten years' time

Rant over. I don't expect to escape unharmed.

Reports for 6 year olds are pretty meaningless. A lot of it is the same for everyone eg. "This year we learnt 4 different jumps in PE". If your friends are boasting about them on FB, then maybe you need to find new friends?
It is a legal requirement to provide one report a year, but if they come out in the summer term I would hope they don't say anything unexpected, as I would like to know any bad news before now.

I'm planning to save them for future wedding speeches etc. Bound to be a time when they come in handy.

mummytime - just when you think you know someone, they starting writing mad stuff on facebook! wedding speeches a good plan sittinginthesun. May steer clear of FB for a few days, people I know are creeping me out! Note to self: must keep trap shut for a bit!
