EYFS points score- quick question!

DS has just got his end of year report, he's just ending his reception year.

He's been given a points score out of 9 for each of the 13 subjects and this has been mapped on a graph that looks like a spiders web!

Also on the graph is another line called "ELA" - does anyone know what this is?

I could ask DS's teacher this afternoon but don't want to appear stupid or "pushy parent" !!!

I think it's "Entry level assessment". I think it's bad of the school not to have explained this tbh.

Google says entry level assessment - which I think will have been where he was at when.he started reception.

Thank you!

I think I'll ask the teacher to explain it to me tonight, it does seem silly not to have a sentence explaining it redsky!

It may well be where he started on joining reception Haunted as the scores on the ELA are a lot lower than the points he has been given.

fyi I think the average or expected levels at the end of reception (according to DD's teacher) are 6/7's if they get 9's they are exceeding EYFS and I would assume starting on NC levels, 5 or under and they are below expected level

Right, the teacher explained that the "ELA" is the level DS was at when he started reception so you were right haunted!

She also said she would expect a child leaving reception to have achieved around level 6.
