Student support centre?

just got a letter from the school asking for my response - with a sheet attached from 'The student support centre' which seems to be an additional home study thing .

it asks for my name, address and phone number....there is a letter form the head asking for my reply 'whether or not you are interested'

why do the school want me to provide them with this information even if I am not interested?

We had something like that. From what I could tell its a company trying to get us to sign up for some online learning and school I'm assuming is being asked to show that it is passing the info on. I didn't reply though.

ok, i just wondered if the school was getting money for passing on 'leads' - i suppose i could just return as 'not interested' without my address...etc..

which would make more sense than giving them that information when i don't want them to use it!

We had this, I looked at their website - under parents FAQ's cost is an average spend of £1800 - yup £1800 average !

No need to reply to school at all - bin it.

given how much free stuff there is to do with primary kids online... that is very steep..

Do a search on Mumsnet - you'll find lots of threads about the Student Support Centre - don't give them your details!

ahhh... like this?

i get it. if i return with 'no thanks' and no details, school should still get some money though...

though Head did not own up to this being a money raiser... in the attached letter.
