Hi

We're thinking of moving to queens park / Kensal rise & am after any info, hints & tips of nurseries & schools in the area. None of the ofsted reports are particularly amazing, but they are all a few years old...

Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks

Hi Lynx - I live in Queens Park. Plenty of parents from here send their kids to private schools in Notting Hill/West Hampstead (Mulberry House)/Hampstead -as the primaries arent outstanding to be fair. Princess Frederica's (COE school) in Kensal Rise supposed to be good and Malorees is also v popular (but v small - have to live on its doorstep to get in). DS1 is at Salusbury Primary - its just had a terrible Ofsted report but the governors and teachers are really trying to turn it round - and DS1 has been happy (which is amazing as there are 700 kids in the school). PTA v heavily involved so it really feels like a community school.

As far as nurseries - there is Hopscotch on corner of Salusbury and Chevening Road that friends have sent their kids to and love, Jellytots (everyone whose children go there love it!) and the Beehive (Montessori nursery school) on Chevening which is v popular too. DS1 went to nursery at Salusbury (was part time only - all places are now part time only there) and loved it.

Am afraid not Lynx - never heard of it! Salusbury Primary School is the one on Salusbury Road so is the main school in QP - is that the one you're thinking of?

Kensal Rise Primary doesnt have a great Ofsted but one mother I spoke to who sends her child there loves it.
