I have a friend who has her appeal hearing re her application for DD2 to go to St Bede's next week and am wondering if anyone can help with their admissions criteria?
Friend's DD1 is currently in year 5. When DD1 started there in Year R, they lived in catchment. They have moved and now live out of catchment (but still in Winchester). DD2 is due to start Year R in September. She has been refused a place as out of catchment.
My friend is a single mum with no car (and currently living on benefits). She gets the bus to take DD1 to school every morning and if DD2 has to go to a different school it will be impossible for her to get both DDs to school on time.
Apparently the admissions person at the school told my friend that the reason her DD2 has been refused a place is because she has a different father to DD1 and so doesn't count as a "sibling"
. Nice lady.
Any advice anyone can give would be much appreciated.
