It is a long story but I have to choose between the above 2 options for my shy child. I can just about afford a private school education provided that I scrimp in other areas (holidays etc). My daughter is in the top group for English and Middle group for Maths. She is in Y4. She is shy and I feel that she may be ignored in grammar school and will not really gain confidence. Is this true? I want an environment where she will be motivated to achieve and will be confident in airing her views.
