7+ into Haberdashers / North London Collegiate

Hi there,

Has anyone got an admission into Habs /NLC into 7+. My DD is going into Year1 in Sep 2013 and hence I was looking for advices on how to prepare her the best.. Me and DH are working full time and hardly find more than half an hour during weekdays ..Pls suggest what's the best way to follow!
Please suggest what's the reading level and mathis level expected from a kid appearing for 7+...

Do the kids have to write a story about a random topic they give during the test?

Look on the school's website (www.nlcs.org.uk) there are examples of past papers.

English-story writing, comprehension, reading
maths-times tables, problem solving, addition subtraction within 100, telling time,

round2
far more in-depth.
1-2-1 interview sometimes, more reading, PE/games,

I heard there are only 8 to 10 places available for 7+ at NLC. Any idea of how many applicants for those few places?
Any recommendations on how to help them with the story writing?
